How to Handle Tough Customers with Persuasion Techniques

Everyone needs strategies for how to handle tough customers. With persuasion techniques by Michael Lee, author of "How to be an Expert Persuader you get the chance to turn that "less than cooperative: client who may be already escalating his or her anger,  into a warm, friendly, happy client again. How? You are wondering. It' s not as hard as you think to know how to handle tough customers with persuasion techniques.

Turn those tough customers into happy ones with persuasion techniques

"Persuasion techniques are essential to apply in the field of sales and marketing, as dealingwith an irrational customer is one of the toughest situations you can tackle. How do youexactly alleviate the fury of a buyer who is livid because of something you, the service or product, or your company failed to perform? This is where influence and persuasiontechniques may come in handy.Because the field of sales is not a walk in the park, there will be times when you will beshouted at, and even hurled harsh words by clients who are not satisfied."

"Don't bealarmed. This is a normal situation. And being so, there are ways to rise above them sothat you don't break down, too.First, find out what the client is angry about. Is he complaining about your service? Is heunclear about certain points in the agreement or the product? Did the problem come fromyou or did it spring out of his frustration over something he misunderstood? What are his sentiments exactly?"

"You can find this out by being calm with the client, no matter how irritable he is. Askpolitely what the problem is and request that he explain it to you. Don't interrupt and try todefend yourself or correct him while he explains. Wait for him to finish and then enumerateall your responses to his problems.Often, the customer does not really want to know exactly what you are doing to rectify thesituation, only that you tell him that steps are being undertaken to correct it, and when precisely this is expected to be solved."

"One thing clients hate most is continuously waiting for solutions that are not certain to happen. When you have figured out what he needs, level with him. Building rapport with your clientis one of the best ways to get into a straight conversation with him without the flare-ups.This means adopting his current mood. If he is angry, let him know that you understand hisfeelings. If he is frustrated, empathize. Clients appreciate people who they know feel their pain. When you have succeeded in this, you can expect to have a much calmer discussion right after."

I just had this exact thing happen to me recently and it actually took place through emails so I was simply using written words to communicate which made the whole situation more challenging or easier I'm not sure.  In the end my calm reactions to his outbursts kept us moving forward and I was able to persuade him to see things differently and he apologized for reacting so rudely. Knowing how to handle tough customers with persuasion techniques can be very useful.

Covert Hypnosis Using Descriptive Imagery

Covert hypnosis using descriptive imagery is one way to accomplish getting an individual into a trace. Vote4hope. explains the simple trategy for inducing a hypnotic response with descriptive imagery

"First, I define a trance аѕ severely reduced critical thουght together wіth narrow focus οf attention. I feel thіѕ definition very useful whеn considering covert hypnosis. Thеrе аrе various tools tο gеt a person inside a trance аnd here I’ll point out аn extremely powerful technique I lіkе tο call vivid imagery.

"A simple strategy tο explaining wουld individually bе thіѕ:

Connect with descriptions of beautiful peaceful places like this.

"Once уου gеt a lot more аnd more οf thе person’s imagination involved, уου progressively take thеm “deeper аnd deeper” inside trance. Consider thіѕ — іf уου wеrе tο imagine pursuing thе coast wіth small waves bу a bеаυtіfυl, crystal clear see, mаkіng up frοm thе sand, сrеаtіng a peaceful аnd relaxing sound…"

"Thе сοld breeze еνеrу ѕο οftеn cools уου down a trifle аnd brings thаt wonderful, fresh smell οf those ocean аnd nearby pine trees wіth іt whеn уου remember each οf thе possibilities whеrе one саn υѕе covert hypnosis οn people…"

"Now… lеt mе know hοw difficult isn t іt јυѕt tο envision thе sensations whеn уου try thаt imaginary walk аnd dіd уου notice thаt whilst уου weren’t really thеrе — уου actually (even though јυѕt very slightly) felt thеm."

"Wе саn easily plant such images within ουr listener’s οr reader’s mind bу utilizing something thаt’s called “descriptive language”. Thе thουght ѕhουld bе tο describe thе problems wе need a person tο experience іn detail, using emotional (“rіght brain”) words similar tο “gοοd looking” compared tο “attractive” аѕ уου progress. Hаνе уου recognize thе dіffеrеnсе between thе two?"

Here’s a gοοd example οf thе υѕе οf such strategy tο effectively persuade somebody wіth covert hypnosis…

"A couple οf months, wе hаνе bееn starting out tο increase funds fοr abused children аnd babies whο аrе produced аt very poor families. Thіѕ season I’m thе president οf аnу charity club here іn Ljubljana аnd I’ve set ѕοmе pretty ambitious goals fοr those, οf whісh ѕοmе wеrе already realized аnd ѕοmе wіll hopefully bе realized soon."

"Thе thουght fοr ουr fundraising wаѕ tο hold a charity lottery during one οf a typical more prestigious balls. Fοr thаt wе hаd tο somehow gеt аѕ many donated gifts аѕ possible, ѕο wе called many businesses tο discover іf thеу′d contribute a product οr service thаt wе′d bе capable οf give аѕ prices around thе lottery."

"One οf ουr members paid visiting a elaborate restaurant tο gеt a free dinner fοr a couple possibly clone οf υѕе аѕ a present. Hе mаdе a scheduled visit іn thе owner οf уουr restaurant аnd met wіth hіm over coffee. Thе conversation didn’t gο tοο well firstly along wіth thе owner, аftеr being presented thе concept, wasn’t very thinking аbουt giving free meals. Thіѕ іѕ whеn mу friend brilliantly used covert hypnosis οn уουr owner…"

"Client wаѕ saying something inside thе lines οf “Well, I’m nοt really іntο charity bυt rυn a business аnd ѕο οn…”. (HINT: In case уουr person doesn’t instantly brush уου οff whісh includes a swift “Nο!”, many times thеу′re secretly asking уου tο persuade thеm! Thаt’s whеn іt’s usually a smart mονе tο persist аnd never ѕtοр trying)…"

The uses for covert hypnosis are restricted only by the imagination. How you decide to use this powerful tool will depend on your life, the people and places that life takes you to and your hopes and dreams for the future. Covert hypnosis using descriptive imagery can help you get the cooperation of those around you for a more positive outcome.

Conversational Hypnosis Techniques and Examples

Cut through the brain fog with covert hypnosis techniques

Conversational hypnosis techniques and examples based on the Milton Model have been fine tuned and time tested. The true and positive nature of these techniques is overwhelming when you consider how life changing conversational hypnosis techniques and examples can be to just one individual and how that one change can effect many  lives.

"The indirect suggestions used in conversational hypnosis are designed to mislead or confuse, and force you to think about what the indirect suggestion might mean, what the different possibilities are, and how it applies to you personally."

"The Milton Model suggests that indirect suggestion embedded in conversational hypnosis is more effective than direct suggestion. The Milton Model is a series of techniques used in conversational hypnosis, a way of putting someone into trance unnoticed as part of a normal conversation. This form of 'secret' indirect suggestion technique is known as the Milton Model. Conversational hypnosis often combines Milton Model hypnotic wording with Analogical Marking."

ADVANTAGES OF CONVERSATIONAL HYPNOSIS

"When doing conversational hypnosis the Milton Model is used to put hypnotic words into an indirect suggestion."

"A direct hypnotic suggestion is a specific instruction such as 'You will now go into a deep trance' or 'You are now a non-smoker'. An example of an indirect suggestion is: 'Sooner or later you'll find yourself wondering about going into a deep trance. And you may do that suddenly or gradually' - is it the 'wondering' or the 'going into trance' that you 'may do'? And while you are considering which it is, you mind is actually going into trance."

"Because hypnotic words are not exactly defined, during conversational hypnosis the client must stop and consider the meaning of those hypnotic words. This causes the client to search their subconscious mind to fill in the missing bits, or to decide how to apply the words to their own personal experience (known as atransderivational search)."

"Because the subconscious mind has to spend time thinking about many different possible meanings, it is much more likely that the client will find something in their past that fits, and will be more effective than a direct suggestion."

"In conversational hypnosis the Milton Model suggestions need a bit more work to prepare but have the advantage of avoiding resistance. Some people have such low self esteem that they will not accept direct suggestions such as...

'You deserve to be loved, you are respected and admired' but will accept an indirect suggestion in conversational hypnosis such as 'I wonder how aware you are that many people respect you, and admire you... and there are other people, many of them... who love you for who you are."

CONVERSATIONAL HYPNOSIS SUGGESTIONS

"The following examples of indirect hypnotic words and phrasing used in conversational hypnosis illustrate how the Milton Model of hypnotic suggestion is carried out. Each heading describes how conversational hypnosis works, and gives examples of that form of hypnotic wording as used in conversational hypnosis scripts."

Cause and Effect implied

"The therapist makes a statement that implies that one thing causes another, or states that one thing is true, therefore the next thing must be true. The statement may be untrue, or there may be no direct link between the one thing and the other."

  • 'And knowing that you can stop gives you the right to change.'
  • 'Snapping that tape means you are choosing a different life '
  • 'You don't need to smoke any more because so many people love you and need you '.

You can identify an implied cause and effect statement by asking 'Does A really lead to B?'."

Complex Equivalence

"This is where a Milton Model suggestion is given that one thing is the same as or equivalent to some other thing. It isn't that one thing causes another, but the implication that because one thing is true the other thing must be true."

  • 'Seeing yourself on that bridge demonstrates that you have made a decision today'.
  • 'snapping that tape means you are choosing a different life '
  • 'because you have control... you have choice in everything you do... '.

"You can identify a complex equivalence by substituting 'is the same as' for the linking verb, whereas the word 'causes' does not fit.

To help others who would otherwise reject a perfectly good direct suggestion, the featured article covered today from key-hypnosis.com includes conversational hypnosis techniques and examples to help you understand how powerful words are and how to use them effectively.

Covert Hypnosis Techniques Anyone Can Learn

Building rapport is a crucial step for effectively using covert hypnosis

There are many programs that claim to offer covert hypnosis techniques anyone can learn but if you are as skeptical as I was at first you will want to do some research before buying into these claims. The article below comes from a site that does offer a covert hypnosis program however I was more interested in their explanations of covert hypnosis and the information they present to support what a hypnotist needs to do.

I like the way they presented this information and that it is not geared towards sexual seduction or other inappropriate uses. When you read the article below you will realize that there are covert hypnosis techniques anyone can learn.

"Covert Hypnosis also known as conversational hypnosis is the process in which one gains control over the others mind without their knowledge just by making conversations by the listener’s subconscious mind. The ultimate aim here is to change the opinion of the person in question by manipulating their thoughts and making them do things your way."

"In this process the hypnotizer changes the thought pattern of the people, their behavior, emotions and perception of life on a subconscious level. Unlike with conventional hypnotherapy sessions covert hypnosis does not involve closing of the eyes or any kind of moving pendulum or strange hand gestures."

Suggestive Commands

"The commands or suggestions given by the person hypnotizing to the person being hypnotized are more of a metaphor and presented in an indirect fashion, although in certain cases they are also given directly. Stories are one of the tools of covert hypnosis which can be effectively used to convey your actual message across and help remember it with much more probability."

"The initial step in covert hypnosis though is to build a rapport with the listener. It is easy to do it with friends and family but also not that difficult to do it with strangers. All you have to do is use some compliment on them or laugh at their jokes to build a comfort level with your unknown listener. It is not necessary that you go too deep into building a connection with your listener."

Building Rapport

"The next step after building a rapport with the person to be hypnotized you have to try and switch off the listener’s critical mind. It is nothing but diverting the listener’s mind from its normal thinking state to an imaginary thinking state. You can always start by using some scenarios and asking them questions like “What if…” or “Imagine this…” This immediately shuts off their critical mind and lets their imagination dominate their thought process."

"After successfully taking the listener off his/her critical mindset you may now make your irresistible commands and describe the things you want him/her to do. The effectiveness of this method depends on a lot of things that you put in to it. It depends on the way you transform their mind from critical thinking to imagination and the kind of statements you make to convince them well enough to perform the task you give them."

I used to be skeptical about the covert hypnosis techniques but I've actually used it myself many times and now I can honestly say there  are effective covert hypnosis techniques anyone can learn to use in any situation.

Conversational Hypnosis and Public Speaking Techniques

For anyone who is involved in public speaking, conversational hypnosis and public speaking techniques are useful and effective tools. The article below written by Jennifer VanBaren, appearing on the ehow.com site suggests several easy ways to incorporate conversational hypnosis and public speaking techniques into your persuasive speeches.

Public speaking techniques can be enhanced by conversational hypnosis

"Persuasive speaking is a technique people use that is aimed at convincing or influencing the speaker’s audience. People who give persuasive speeches often embrace an idea, an attitude or an opinion about a topic and write their speeches in a way that causes the audience to react to it. Persuasive speaking has several key characteristics that set it apart from other types of speaking."

  1. Audience Focus

    • "Persuasive speaking is always done in a way that focuses directly on the audience. The writer of a persuasive speech concentrates each point of the speech directly on influencing the audience to think a specific way. According to Austin Community College, persuasive speaking is a way of manipulating the listeners' thinking."

    Pronouns

    • "Persuasive speaking primarily uses first and second person pronouns. This includes using “I,” “we,” “you” and “your.” By using these types of pronouns, the speaker refers directly to himself with the words he speaks and also talks straight to his audience by calling them “you.”

    Clear Claim

    • "A persuasive speech should present a clear and direct claim to let the audience know exactly what the speaker’s point of view is. A persuasive speech never gives the audience a chance to choose an opinion of the subject, but instead the speaker tries to offer only one position about the topic.

"When writing a persuasive speech, never deviate from your claim or stance on the subject. To convince the audience of your perspective, it is important to offer at least three support points. These points are strong pieces of evidence that prove your position is the best position to take."

    Appeal

"Writers of persuasive speeches use various types of appeal to convince the audience. Ethos is a type of appeal where the speaker is qualified to speak about the subject. Ethos causes the audience to believe the speaker is an authority on the subject; it is obtained through the speaker’s qualifications, experience and knowledge."

"Pathos is another type of appeal a speaker often uses. Pathos works by appealing to the audience's emotions. To use this type of appeal, use illustrations, parables and stories with moral values. Logos is a different type of appeal that uses facts and figures to support the speaker's position."

Everyone can identify a good speaker when they hear one, the message and impact of the speech is clear, and memorable and the listener feels good and has learned something valuable. Conversational hypnosis and public speaking techniques really do work and the proof will be when you start getting more feedback and better results from your speaking engagements.

Covert Hypnosis and Other Persuasion Techniques

Covert hypnosis and other persuasion techniques are commonly used for sales and business purposes. Featured here and on Flashbay.com, Author Peter Nguyen shares his Six Weapons of Influence. "Weapons of Influence?" This sounds a little intimidating so I'll stick to persuasion techniques. Persuasion techniques can include covert hypnosis which is another tool becoming more widely used. Covert hypnosis sometimes called conversational hypnosis is more involved than just getting to know your audience and how they think. Covert hypnosis and other persuasion techniques should be taught through training and education.

Persuasion techniques are used all the time in sales and business

"Weapon of Influence #1 - Reciprocity"

"The reciprocity principle implies that when someone do something nice or give something to you, you would naturally feel obligated to return the favor. It doesn’t matter if the favor is wanted or unwanted. We just feel a sense of indebtedness toward that person. Sometimes, the returning favors can be much bigger than the received favors too!

Additionally, you can also give away useful and educational content in the forms E-books, white papers, and videos. Giving away content is very effective for lead generation."

Weapon of Influence #2 - Commitment and Consistency

"This principle is based on the premise that people like to behave in a consistent manner. Once we make a decision or take a stand, we would act and respond in ways that are consistent with what we decided. Furthermore, we would strongly justify and defend our earlier decisions."

"The idea here is to get someone to believe in something small or take a small action first. Once they are committed, they are more likely to agree to a larger task or larger idea later. Moreover, people would even try to defend their actions, even if their actions are not popular or wrong. This method’s effectiveness is amplified when the agreement is made in front of other people."

How to apply this principle in your business

"Most people are unlikely to buy from you upon first exposure or first meeting. Why? They don’t have enough information or data about you yet."

"But if you can get them to commit to trying out your product or service for free (free trial or free samples), then they might eventually pay to use your products or services. Alternatively, you can convince them to start out with a cheaper plan first, and then convince them to upgrade later. The key is to get people to commit to something small or low risk first."

Conversational Hypnosis Is Not a Secret and President Obama Knows It

President Obama is carefully using some conversational hypnotic techniques in his speeches, that doesn't make him a bad man.

Conversational Hypnosis is not a secret and President Obama knows it. While I don't want to get into any political issues as the author of this article did on the the SixthStreetGallery, I too believe that President Obama and many others are using some conversational hypnosis or NLP to get their message anchored into the minds of the people. Is he a bad guy for using hypnotic techniqus? Time will tell. He's working hard to be a great politician and he is able to lead the masses with his public speaking abilities, that's part of his job. Conversational hypnosis is no longer a secret and Obama knows it and is using it right under your nose.

"It truly is nearly undetectable for the untrained ear and has been used widely within therapy to help people eliminate challenging behaviors and self damaging emotional disorders. Conversational hypnosis has, in recent times, become easily available to the general public because of available access to courses on-line. As with any other proficiency, the appearance of widespread public use, and the emergence of a worldwide online network, has witnessed conversational hypnosis improve and become much more established. These days it is the most powerful method for persuasion ever seen."

"Barack Obama is obviously very familiar with these processes and regularly employs them as part of his addresses."

"As an example he frequently utilizes very systematic ‘pacing and leading’ within his speeches. Firstly Barack Obama is really good at using his body gestures to mirror the climate of the crowd. where the crowd can be enthusiastic and motivated, his expressions and choice of words is exciting and untamed. In the event the crowd happens to be sombre and introspective, he can be a lot more subdued and contained."

"This way he swiftly secures a rapport with his audience who sense that he empathizes and shares his concerns with them. After this fundamental subconscious link is made he’ll then begin to guide the crowd by using body language and cadence. It’s really a timeless conversational hypnosis technique."

"In truth, once you have even a rudimentary understanding of conversational hypnosis, his usage of mass hypnosis strategies is often very clear. He uses such strategies as intense imagery and patterns relying on isomorphic metaphors which usually express one supposed meaning as a result of talking about something seemingly unrelated. This is often meticulously delivered to make certain that he captures the concentration and conscious focus of his target audience. This method of captivation leads to the reduced psychological defenses of the listeners."

"Barack Obama can then use embedded instructions to suggest his political concepts within the subconscious mind of the audience. As an illustration, he quite often returns to key anchoring terms for example “now is the moment…”. Obama will then deliver a command statements such as “..you must act ” that he links to the preceding ‘undeniable’ statement thus giving his subjective statement greater validity. He also uses verbal tone, pitch, facial expression together with gesture in clearly hypnotic loops in order to improve his allure to his target audience."

One thing we must all remember is that if you understand the conversational hypnosis techniques you can "catch" anyone who is also using them on you. We have a responsibility to understand the techniques politicians use to motivate and gain power.

"The Birthers suggest that Obama is employing some sort of deceptive mind control. There is nothing hidden regarding what he is doing. Any individual having the least interest may easily learn the identical approaches. There is absolutely no hidden-secret in any way."

I don't believe in dragging people down, I find most people are sensible enough to understand that we do not all think alike. I also believe that if you give people a chance they will eventually drag themselves down. Do you think conversational hypnosis is no longer a secret and Obama knows it?
