Language of Persuasion and Covert Hypnosis

There is a distinct language of persuasion and covert hypnosis that an individual must master in order to become really comfortable with any hypnosis technique. Today's article found on Slaw.ca on how to close more clients using persuasion, discusses mirroring and other anchoring techniques that speak the language of persuasion and covert hypnosis with every single word.

"In his book, Influence, The Psychology of Persuasion, Robert B. Cialdini, Ph.D. discusses many factors that affect how persuasive you can be with others. Cialdini was also one of the authors of Yes! 50 Scientifically Proven Ways to Be Persuasive, co-authored by Noah J Goldstein and Steve J. Martin."

"Lawyers can use these persuasive techniques to help them increase the percentage of inquiries or initial consultations that turn into paid client engagements."

"People like people who are like themselves; they hire people that they know, like and trust. In your initial consultation, you need to build up the like and trust factors in order to increase the chances that the potential client will want to work with you by the end of the consultation."

"In an earlier post, Who Are You Marketing To, I talked about clients being a reflection of you:"

"People do business with people they know, like and trust. Clients are attracted to people who, at least in some ways, resemble them. In order to trust someone, you must feel comfortable that the person you’re working with shares some of your values and goals. Identifying your individual values and what you stand for can help clarify the kinds of clients that you will work best with."

"In other words, you can identify the kinds of clients you want to work with by understanding more about yourself. In the same way, expressing an understanding of who your clients or potential clients are and what their concerns are can help persuade clients to retain you. The authors of Yes! suggest that mirroring behavior plays upon the natural inclination to like those who are similar to you; reflecting the client’s words and body language can help you seal the deal."

"I’ve talked about “speaking your clients’ language” before (most recently in the context of networking); instead of using legal jargon or words only lawyers use, use the words your clients use. Legalese and jargon create more distance between you and your audience."

"If your goal is to demonstrate your expertise and show potential clients and referral sources that you understand their problems and can help them, you want them to feel like they know you and that you understand them and their problems."

"Mirroring verbal language makes clients feel understood. It increases their positive feelings toward you and makes them more likely to decide to retain you to represent them. Matching the rate and volume at which you speak to your client and mirroring their body language can further reinforce those feelings of closeness and comfort, foster rapport and can also aid in your persuasiveness."

"Don’t make sudden or drastic changes, but be cognizant of how the potential client speaks and their body language. Be careful not to mimic or copy the other person exactly or your efforts can backfire."

"Mirroring may not work in situations where a client is anxious or overly excited – in that case, mirroring by repeating the client’s concerns back to them, making sure that they know they have been heard and understood, but consciously not mirroring their anxiety level or rate of speech may be more persuasive."

"In those instances, you may be more persuasive by being more calm and reassuring, and you may even be able to get them to mirror you. When the potential client begins to mirror you, you’ll know you are well on your way to being in synch and signing a new client."

There are so many ways to practice the art of mirroring and the more you practice of course, the sooner you will master it. Mirror with your family and friends. Try it out on people at work or when you go out. Practice it even for few seconds with a waitress or barber. You can practice the language of persuasion and covert hypnosis almost anywhere.

Incorporate Covert Hypnosis into Your Way of Thinking

To become a successful hypnotist you must incorporate covert hypnosis into your way of thinking. If you are able to do this successfully you will never worry about getting "caught" using covert hypnosis techniques. When you become confident and more natural at speaking with people and using the powerful techniques regularly you are able to fully incorporate covert hypnosis into your way of thinking and truly make a difference in your own life and the lives of others.

"A number of hypnotists newly venturing in to the arena of covert conversational hypnosis fear they will probably be caught utilizing their skills by their unwitting hypnotic subjects. This is an interesting fear to possess since it is to suggest that these hypnotists are doing something wrong or something bad, an issue that you intend to ‘get away with.’ Except this becoming very unhealthy attitude to possess towards what exactly perhaps one of essentially the most powerful vehicles for positive change and improvement there is always, it is also something of a self fulfilling prophecy."

"Think of this, the unconscious system is highly perceptive, even when we aren t always competent to consciously access these perceptions. I am sure you know what it’s intend to see someone, even before you speak to them, and merely automatically receive a feeling about them. Maybe you’ll like them, perhaps you won’t. These feelings will seem totally unjustified, but they’ll be 100% real. If you did use covert hypnosis in an unethical manner, people would unconsciously proceeded to associate you with all the negative results of your hypnotic suggestions, and will just naturally begin to mistrust you. So, to be a matter both of ethics and of pragmatism, forever use covert and conversational hypnosis for good..."

"So anyway, now that we’ve that out of the way, lets think about this whole ‘getting caught’ thing from another angle. Perhaps can remember or at least imagine a time when one of your friends or perhaps a family member has been upset about something. You have it to talk to them, to console them, and then they will move to you and accusingly challenge just ‘you’re just attempting to make me feel better!’ Now obviously on reflection its as straightforward to think ‘well duh! Of course i really want you to feel good, whats wrong with that!"

"But in the moment, some of us accept the accusation for what it is, and abandon them alone for their sadness. As silly because this definitely is, it reveals to us a crucial factor when doing covert hypnosis: People hate being influenced. No matter whether you are seeking to persuade anyone to buy a car or just simply to feel good and be happy people as a rule hate knowing regarding this, frequently to their own detriment."

Persuading people to live up to their potential and be happy is a very good thing.

"This, obviously, presents us with another ethical dilemma. Why influence people if they prefer not to be influenced? Well keep in mind this, every day we influence people, always. We communicate with people every single day of our own lives, and take a look at and move people to make better decisions, to feel full and satisfied, to become happier and recover from their very own problems. The truth is also, many people accidentally use covert hypnotic tactics without realizing the harmful outcome of what they are doing...

"So, given that we’ve laid the land techniques of only using covert hypnosis to be a ‘force for good’ and established that influence is known as a natural part of everyday life, a crucial skill which covert hypnosis simply means that you can master, lets get back to the stage that this short article: getting caught.

"Firstly, avoid making the common mistake of talking differently when doing covert hypnosis. Lots of people get the idea that as soon as you begin using covert hypnosis, your entire voice and physiology must change. This is certainly only a bit silly, because, really think about it, covert hypnosis is definitely an unconscious process, so naturally your unconscious need to accomplish almost all of the work."

"When you are consciously inside your head going “now i use a presupposition…’ you interrupt the natural hypnotic flow, you commence to sound robotic and uninteresting, you be understood as you will be delivering a prepared speech and individuals immediately realize somethings up and stop absorbing your suggestions.... let the hypnotic patterns to flow automatically from a subconscious mind, then, once your listeners are really in trance, once they ve are in love with your natural and irresistible flow of smooth suggestions you can commence to gradually lower, and deepen your problem, and set a hypnotic trigger, an anchor, which can instantly send them back into trance after you apply it..."

Incorporate covert hypnosis into your way of thinking, into your subconscious mind and let it become something you do naturally without much effort. In that way you can use covert hypnosis techniques and not alert anyone to your motives.

Covert Persuasion Techniques for Building Self Confidence

Covert persuasion techniques for building self confidence have been around a very long time. Would you like to be one of those people that can get what they want simply because they are confident? The more you are able to successfully persuade others to do what you wish the more confidence you will have. Take a look at this article by Michael Lee from Persuasion-sales and you will better understand the way to use covert persuasion techniques for building self-confidence.

Gain confidence using covert persuasion techniques and use your body language to show confidence just like an athlete.

"Persuasion techniques and confidence go hand in hand. If your confidence is low, you won’t be able to persuade people. To boost your self-esteem, ask yourself, “What compliment did I receive from people before, that made me more confident?”

"Seek within yourself your strong qualities, and develop them. What good things do people say about you? Model someone who has successfully persuaded you in the past, and improve on their strategy."

"Go down to memory lane and remember the times you have successfully persuaded, convinced, influenced or motivated someone. Here are some things to consider:"

1) "What did you do to convince your crush to be your girlfriend (or boyfriend)?

2) What did you do to persuade your boss to agree to your request?

3) What did you do to motivate someone to perform better?

4) How did you negotiate with your parents to get a larger allowance?"

"You may not be aware of it, but there are countless times that you have successfully persuaded people. You may just not be aware that you’re using persuasion techniques in those cases."

"Write down those instances and think of how you may apply them in your current situation or future use. Find ways in which you can apply persuasion in your everyday life. Here are 4 ways to become a highly confident persuader::

Persuasion Technique # 1: Be unwavering and resolute in your purpose.

"You’ve got to stand by your objective and never let other people forcefully persuade you into agreeing with them. However, this doesn’t mean you remain stiff and inflexible if new data or proof has been presented.

Even if you still don’t like their idea, at least appear to consider their opinion in your decision. This shows respect and humility. Say something like, “You got a good point there. I’ll certainly take that into consideration.”

Persuasion Technique # 2: You also have to be passionate with your words and body language.

When you show enthusiasm, people are more likely to be influenced because you make it seem like you’re so sure about your idea..."

Persuasion Technique # 3: Never be discouraged.

"Prepare your message well and stay focused on your target. When you’re requesting something and they stay silent, don’t just go away unsatisfied. When they want you to do something and they stay quiet after you’ve told them you can’t do it, make a stand! Stick by your decision."

"Explain to them the valid reasons why you want or don’t want to do something. If they stayed silent to make you feel uncomfortable, don’t just agree with what they want. Keep your cool. Talk to them again and tell them that your decision is final."

"If they frown, fold their arms, take a deep breath, or shake their heads, apply the same procedure. Be confident while communicating and stay unaffected by their distracting moves or actions."

"What if they told you that they remembered the discussion to be different? Isn’t it frustrating to have agreed on something and they suddenly said that they heard it in a different perspective?"

"You can kindly ask them to prove it. You can ask when, how, or where it was said. If they cannot maintain constancy of data and accuracy in their statements, then you’ve got a winning case."

The fourth technique suggested in the article reminded me of an athlete who has to project confidence even when no one is looking because body language says so much about a person. So things like which seat you end up in during an important meeting or your first handshake with someone can be a form of covert persuasion techniques for building confidence and will leave lasting impressions.

Subliminal Hypnosis Secrets… Do They Really Work?

Hey Covert Hypnosis Fans.

its me your loyal friend and covert hypnosis buddy David (X) back with you to discuss the power of subliminal hypnosis recordings. To that effect I would like to share with you a recent post I got from my good friend and associate Brian David Phillips Regarding The Power of Subliminal Hypnosis Recordings.

Do they work The Way Everyone Says...?

Decide for yourself,

  Here's Brian...

Recently, David, I was asked about subliminals and direct hypnosis as to which is more effective. Evidently I was unclear in my response so I'm going to restate things a bit here.

My point is that subliminals don't work . . . at least they don't work the way many people think they work. You'll do yourself more good by using direct overt hypnotic process and suggestion work . . . and doing the work of clearing things and compounding.

Scripts are much more effective than subliminals. Live sessions with a qualified and competent and experienced hypnotist who knows what he's doing are much more effective than scripts.

There are a number of studies that show subliminals are not appreciably more effective than simple placebo. Subliminals are bells-and-whistles, they are not effective tools for influencing the subconscious in and of themselves. I know,

I know . . . there are a number of webpages which refer to a famous early study regarding the flashing of subliminal images at a drive in theatre to drive up concession sales . . . well, that study was faked. It was a fraud propagated by an advertising firm looking to drum up business.

There has been good solid research in subliminal media but that's the study everyone remembers, even if it was a well-perpetrated hoax.

When subliminals have been used in controlled studies, they don't measure up well.

Direct Suggestion Hypnosis has been proven to be more effective than so-called subliminal processes . . . this is partly due to the fact that the subject has to at least do some of the work to get the job done. Purely passive subliminal systems are ineffective.

The thing about suggestion is that the person being hypnotized must want and believe and accept the suggestion. So, you have to do the work and get into the right frame of mind. Of course, this is one of the reasons live sessions are more valuable than taped ones as the hypnotist can work the feedback loop and help resolve any so-called resistance issues as they happen.

There are NO magic bullet methods that work on everyone all the time with no resistance or work.

Studies of subliminal tapes have shown they work primarily because of placebo. When given a tape with subliminal persuasion on it, the subjects tend to have success with it IF THEY KNOW IT'S A SUBLIMINAL TAPE. If they don't know it's got subliminals then it tends to have no effect.

If given a tape with nothing but white noise but no subliminals and they are told there are subliminals, subjects have the same positive benefits as a tape with subliminals that they were told were there. If they are not told the white noise tape has subliminals then there is no positive benefit.

Most of the tapes out there that claim to use subliminals don't use actual targeted media content, instead, they throw in light mixing or white noise. At least one study of a major subliminal tape producer showed that under analysis there was no appreciable content within the audio stream.

Many subliminal producers seem to think that all you have to do is down mix content or garble it into white noise. This is NOT the case.

While many will tell you their tapes are different, that they have a wonderful process which delivers one hundred percent of the content directly into the subconscious, directly, easily, with no pain for maximum gain . . . ask to see their numbers. That is, ask for their real success rates with a group of one hundred or more randomly selected individuals . . . with longitudinal feedback of say as little as a year or even a couple months or as little as two weeks.

Most won't have those numbers and will instead refer you to testimonies or Amazon.Com "customer reviews" which are not real indicators of success (in fact, in this industry especially, such things are often manipulated). Even if the testimonies are real, they only indicated individual success, not general patterns of effectiveness.

Of course, many folks will tell you they don't have the resources to do such studies - which seems odd since most professionals keep records and do mailings and feedback reviews as a part of a professional practice. If they do indeed help thousands, you'd think they would have some records of how many purchase their services and what the base rough rates would be.

It seems to me they are operating under the same delusion as the single-session stop-smoling guys who say they are one-hundred-percent effective because none of their stop-smoking folks ever call for a second appointment . . . when, as well all know, many of those folks don't get second appointments because they suck tepid sewer water when it comes to providing adequate services.

The studies that do look at large groups of control-case and case-case comparisons regarding subliminals come from universities rather than producers of the products and they are by-and-large consistent in their assessment that most such products are little more than placebo.

You'll have just as much success giving clients a blank tape and telling them it's a new high-tech sublimination process that goes directly into the unconscious. Of course, it's hard to give oneself a placebo of this type once the genie is out of the bottle or Toto moves the curtain aside to reveal the man operating the subliminal controls.

I hope that this time I've been a bit clear for you.

How To Hypnotize – Learning How Hypnosis and NLP Work Together.

NLP Hypnosis: How Do NLP And Hypnosis Work Together?

Hypnosis and NLP are two different concepts used for mind control, but they are also interrelated in many ways.
NLP or neuro- linguistic programming is a technique that is widely used and adopted in the interpersonal communication.

The techniques of NLP have been effectively used as effective approach to modern psychotherapy.
The techniques of NLP find great usage in fields such as business and industries.

It is also greatly used by advocates in various training activities, workshops and also knowledge dissemination program. These workshops are essentially used in order to influence the other person’s views and perception. The underlying principle here is that with the acquisition of new knowledge and ideas there are also suitable change and modifications in a persons attitude and behavior.

Hypnosis is also a means that is used to influence the mind and the behavior of a person, but this process is highly unconventional, but none the less popular. Hypnosis generally targets the person’s subconscious. In this a person is commanded to perform actions, in a state of half sleep.

In such a state of mind, the mind is more conducive to the obeying and accepting external demands from a third party. Unless recently, it was often regarded that hypnosis was like dealing with psychic.

But of late this perception has entirely changed. Now hypnosis is treated with utmost scientific approach, according to the new study, we face hypnotic trance almost daily in our lives. You yourself must have experienced hypnosis while watching scenes in a movie or television.

Now the question that arises is, can we combine the two alike process NLP and hypnosis?

And if yes, what will be the significance?

The answer is that the mixture of these two principles will lead to a better facilitation of knowledge and skill dissemination. In fact, there are many training sessions that involve the techniques of both the processes. By combing the two processes we can actually control the conscious and the sub-conscious state of mind. The end result of the combination is almost always positive.

Hypnosis is an unconventional method, wherein a person is motivated to do certain things and is also made to recall memories that are hidden in the deep traces of our minds

If you are planning to have a workshop and are using both these techniques, then it is very important that you hire professionals who are experienced in the mentioned fields. Hypnosis is a tricky business and the person you hire should be a person who is a professional and knows his job. This search may require a certain amount of investment and effort, but for the welfare of all the parties involved, it is very essential.
