There is a distinct language of persuasion and covert hypnosis that an individual must master in order to become really comfortable with any hypnosis technique. Today's article found on Slaw.ca on how to close more clients using persuasion, discusses mirroring and other anchoring techniques that speak the language of persuasion and covert hypnosis with every single word.

"In his book, Influence, The Psychology of Persuasion, Robert B. Cialdini, Ph.D. discusses many factors that affect how persuasive you can be with others. Cialdini was also one of the authors of Yes! 50 Scientifically Proven Ways to Be Persuasive, co-authored by Noah J Goldstein and Steve J. Martin."

"Lawyers can use these persuasive techniques to help them increase the percentage of inquiries or initial consultations that turn into paid client engagements."

"People like people who are like themselves; they hire people that they know, like and trust. In your initial consultation, you need to build up the like and trust factors in order to increase the chances that the potential client will want to work with you by the end of the consultation."

"In an earlier post, Who Are You Marketing To, I talked about clients being a reflection of you:"

"People do business with people they know, like and trust. Clients are attracted to people who, at least in some ways, resemble them. In order to trust someone, you must feel comfortable that the person you’re working with shares some of your values and goals. Identifying your individual values and what you stand for can help clarify the kinds of clients that you will work best with."

"In other words, you can identify the kinds of clients you want to work with by understanding more about yourself. In the same way, expressing an understanding of who your clients or potential clients are and what their concerns are can help persuade clients to retain you. The authors of Yes! suggest that mirroring behavior plays upon the natural inclination to like those who are similar to you; reflecting the client’s words and body language can help you seal the deal."

"I’ve talked about “speaking your clients’ language” before (most recently in the context of networking); instead of using legal jargon or words only lawyers use, use the words your clients use. Legalese and jargon create more distance between you and your audience."

"If your goal is to demonstrate your expertise and show potential clients and referral sources that you understand their problems and can help them, you want them to feel like they know you and that you understand them and their problems."

"Mirroring verbal language makes clients feel understood. It increases their positive feelings toward you and makes them more likely to decide to retain you to represent them. Matching the rate and volume at which you speak to your client and mirroring their body language can further reinforce those feelings of closeness and comfort, foster rapport and can also aid in your persuasiveness."

"Don’t make sudden or drastic changes, but be cognizant of how the potential client speaks and their body language. Be careful not to mimic or copy the other person exactly or your efforts can backfire."

"Mirroring may not work in situations where a client is anxious or overly excited – in that case, mirroring by repeating the client’s concerns back to them, making sure that they know they have been heard and understood, but consciously not mirroring their anxiety level or rate of speech may be more persuasive."

"In those instances, you may be more persuasive by being more calm and reassuring, and you may even be able to get them to mirror you. When the potential client begins to mirror you, you’ll know you are well on your way to being in synch and signing a new client."

There are so many ways to practice the art of mirroring and the more you practice of course, the sooner you will master it. Mirror with your family and friends. Try it out on people at work or when you go out. Practice it even for few seconds with a waitress or barber. You can practice the language of persuasion and covert hypnosis almost anywhere.

 

Covert Persuasion Techniques for Building Self Confidence

Covert persuasion techniques for building self confidence have been around a very long time. Would you like to be one of those people that can get what they want simply because they are confident? The more you are able to successfully persuade others to do what you wish the more confidence you will have. Gain confidence using covert persuasion techniques and use your body language to show confidence just like an athlete.

"Persuasion techniques and confidence go hand in hand. If your confidence is low, you won’t be able to persuade people. To boost your self-esteem, ask yourself, “What compliment did I receive from people before, that made me more confident?”

"Seek within yourself your strong qualities, and develop them. What good things do people say about you? Model someone who has successfully persuaded you in the past, and improve on their strategy."

"Go down to memory lane and remember the times you have successfully persuaded, convinced, influenced or motivated someone. Here are some things to consider:"

1) "What did you do to convince your crush to be your girlfriend (or boyfriend)?

2) What did you do to persuade your boss to agree to your request?

3) What did you do to motivate someone to perform better?

4) How did you negotiate with your parents to get a larger allowance?"

"You may not be aware of it, but there are countless times that you have successfully persuaded people. You may just not be aware that you’re using persuasion techniques in those cases."

"Write down those instances and think of how you may apply them in your current situation or future use. Find ways in which you can apply persuasion in your everyday life. Here are 4 ways to become a highly confident persuader::

Persuasion Technique # 1: Be unwavering and resolute in your purpose.

"You’ve got to stand by your objective and never let other people forcefully persuade you into agreeing with them. However, this doesn’t mean you remain stiff and inflexible if new data or proof has been presented.

Even if you still don’t like their idea, at least appear to consider their opinion in your decision. This shows respect and humility. Say something like, “You got a good point there. I’ll certainly take that into consideration.”

Persuasion Technique # 2: You also have to be passionate with your words and body language.

When you show enthusiasm, people are more likely to be influenced because you make it seem like you’re so sure about your idea..."

Persuasion Technique # 3: Never be discouraged.

"Prepare your message well and stay focused on your target. When you’re requesting something and they stay silent, don’t just go away unsatisfied. When they want you to do something and they stay quiet after you’ve told them you can’t do it, make a stand! Stick by your decision."

"Explain to them the valid reasons why you want or don’t want to do something. If they stayed silent to make you feel uncomfortable, don’t just agree with what they want. Keep your cool. Talk to them again and tell them that your decision is final."

"If they frown, fold their arms, take a deep breath, or shake their heads, apply the same procedure. Be confident while communicating and stay unaffected by their distracting moves or actions."

"What if they told you that they remembered the discussion to be different? Isn’t it frustrating to have agreed on something and they suddenly said that they heard it in a different perspective?"

"You can kindly ask them to prove it. You can ask when, how, or where it was said. If they cannot maintain constancy of data and accuracy in their statements, then you’ve got a winning case."

The fourth technique suggested in the article reminded me of an athlete who has to project confidence even when no one is looking because body language says so much about a person. So things like which seat you end up in during an important meeting or your first handshake with someone can be a form of covert persuasion techniques for building confidence and will leave lasting impressions.

The truth is that the best hypnosis is actually usually the fastest so when I get asked a question about how to hypnotize someone in just a few  seconds I get really excited because thats exacty the way I like to do it.

 Fast.

 Remember that hypnosis is technically the bypass of the critical factor of theconsious mind and the establishment of acceptable selective thinking. Therefore anything that has the power to re-orient or bypass a persons ability to make rational logical judgements and distinctions is the best way to hypnotize someone in just a few seconds.

So here in a nutshell are some really quick ways you can hypnotize a person in just few seconds..

A. Massive Emotional Overload

anything that super charges or intensifiies emotional arousal is a gateway to trance. you just have to make sure the trance you are inducing is one you can control.

Positive emotions and sensations if strong enough will bypass the critical factor just as powerfully as a negative one.you just also have to remember that the kind of suggestions you give to these people WILL be colored by the emotional trance states they are in so choose your state wisely.

 B. Tell a story,

one of the fastest ways in history to hypnotize a person or a group of people is to simply tell a story. Hypnotic storytelling aka metaphors are powerful beyond belief in bypassing and reorienting a persons critical factor. I always helps to start with once upon a time when you can fit it in because that particular phrase is a massive cultural anchor that triggers suspension of the critical factor and often "time distortion" within your subject as well.

C. Ask them an age related question

The simple truth is anything that causes a person to mentally go back in time to remember something causes a powerful gateway to trance that can be leveraged into an instant attraction or connection in 15 minutes or less.
